Being a WordPress user myself for over a decade, choosing the best WordPress theme is always a huge challenge. Thankfully, I stumbled upon Genesis Theme Framework (also known as Genesis Framework by StudioPress). Until today, Genesis Theme Framework is my go-to choice when it comes to awesome design and flexibility. Apart from Genesis, I am also an avid user of Thrive Themes.
Just like most of you out there, I wanted to experience all the features and finally decide the best theme I should be using for my main websites (as well as my secondary ones). I was lucky that I had some extra money to invest in both (a Genesis Pro user and paid Thrive Themes member). With this comparison, you will be able to:
- Make better choices in investing (your money for the best product)
- Understand each product better
- Fully understand the power beneath each premium WordPress theme

Why should you be using Genesis Theme Framework?
Genesis Theme Framework comes with a huge array of custom themes that you can choose from. Yes, it may sound confusing at first and take a look below to further understand what a framework is all about under 1 minute.
A framework is a backbone or core structure of a theme. You can easily consider this as a framework of a car.
A child theme is the designs that integrate seamlessly into a framework. In this case, it can be considered as the paint job (or modifications) for the car.
How to customize Genesis Theme Framework?
From my experience using Genesis, customizing the child theme can be a messy thing. Yes, you need to get your hands a little dirty especially when you are trying to create your own, custom design and layout.
StudioPress has thought about this and there is a huge knowledge library to literally find anything you need to customize your Genesis Theme Framework.
You could also use an alternative plugin called, Genesis Extender Plugin that allows you to customize your Genesis theme without touching a single line of code.
Important note: Customizing Genesis Theme Framework is really easy and trust me, I am no coder but I am proud to say that I am able to modify codes on Genesis thanks to the simple (and detailed) knowledge base provided.
Additional features on the Genesis Theme Framework
Genesis themes are always built based on lightweight coding to ensure that your website loads at lighting speed.

A few clicks and you are all good to go.
