Five link building strategies for beginners in blogging

As a beginning in the blogging world, one of the most important things you can learn to increase your audience base and make your content rank higher in search engine rankings is building links. Search engines such as Google are continually improving their algorithms to weed out any spam links or unnatural link building. In all of this constant change, the only thing bloggers can make sure to do is to focus on natural link building and organic link creation. There are link building agencies such as Healthy Links that build links organically through a process called blogger outreach - a process that revolves around reaching out to bloggers and guest posting on their website.

What are these links?

To start, you must know what backlinks and internal links are. Backlinks or external links are links that bring a viewer from one website to another. In simple words, a backlink from a reputed and well-visited webpage to your website tells the search engine that your reputation is stellar and that your content is worth promoting. Internal links, on the other hand, are links that you can create between different pages of your website. These allow the reader to browse different kinds of information within your site without having to search for other websites that might answer their queries. If viewers use your website’s internal links to navigate your web content, then this shows search engines that your content is actually diverse and is used by viewers consistently.

What do these links do?

Both of these links show search engines that are content is excellent and reliable, and that it is relevant to the search engine queries of the audiences that click on it. In other words, search engines use these links to determine the reputation and credibility of your content and then boost up the rankings of your website or blog accordingly.

Five link building strategies

#1 Use an external resource

You are one of those that bloggers that cannot invest the time and energy into gradual organic link building and growth, then it is best to leave this sort of work to a link building agency. They can help you create outreach for your content, build reputed and high-quality backlinks, and ensure a higher ranking for your blogs.

#2 Guest blogging

A young blogger, one important way to build quality links is by searching for reputable and famous blogs that have a large following. Requesting these blogs to do guest posts which link back to your content is a great way to direct relevant traffic to your website, and to ensure that the external link showcases the reputation of your content.

#3 Social Media Presence

Blog, your content, or your company must have an active social media presence that interacts with followers, increases the audience base, and continuously links the content to the social media posts. Facebook, Instagram, to Twitter posts that link the audience to web content is an excellent example of an external link that directs relevant audiences to your blogs. This link building plan is a long term ideal, takes a lot of time, and builds healthy and natural links. Even though this sort of link building takes time, it yields very positive results.

#4 Using broken links

A broken link on a website or a blog is a page that does not work anymore. With a lot of websites owned by busy bloggers, older content may disappear, or websites may malfunction. In this case, young bloggers can search for relevant websites in their niche and see if there are any broken links on those sites. If there is content on your web page that can substitute for that missing content, then young bloggers can reach out to website owners to propose that these broken links be fixed by linking to your blog content.

#5 Using anchor text

Text is text that helps search engines determine the topic of your page. Multiple links that are leading to a page that has similar words or phrases allows for this anchor text to be highlighted by search engines as relevant. These search engines can then rank these pages with multiple links pointing back to them higher in rankings. However, this must be done with caution because when ten different backlinks are based on the same phrase, then these can be flagged as spam. It is best to use variations of phrases instead.

Shared Hosting vs Managed Hosting

Managed Hosting vs Shared Hosting: Which is the best web hosting service?

Managed hosting vs shared hosting – which is the right web hosting plan for you? What are the differences between managed hosting and shared hosting? When should you move from shared hosting to managed hosting?

Those are what we will cover today and we hope that you are in for a treat!

1. What is managed hosting?

Wikipedia describes managed hosting as a dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone else.

In layman terms, managed hosting is a higher tier when compared to the standard web hosting services (also known as shared hosting).

Managed hosting are often for platform specific such as managed WordPress hosting and managed Drupal hosting. When you use managed hosting, you are given bigger server resources, better security features and a much higher/better support team. However, all of the above come with a higher price tag.

Managed Hosting vs Shared Hosting

Should I be using managed hosting?

If your website generates around 800 or more visits a day, you are pretty much ready for managed hosting service. Generally, your website should be generating sufficient income for better hosting service when you have more than 500 visits a day.

Does website security concerns you?

If the answer is a straight "yes", managed hosting is an excellent web hosting choice for you. When you use managed hosting services, you are not only getting better server performance and faster website loading speed, you are also getting better website security.

Therefore, many basic and advanced security features had been activated on server end to ensure that your website is not opening doors for malicious codes and hackers.

What are the recommended managed hosting services?

One of the best managed hosting services in the world is Kinsta. Powered with Google Cloud Platform, Kinsta offers not only server performance but close to bullet proof web security.

If you are serious in using a managed hosting service, Kinsta is your best mate. You can check out my review on Kinsta Managed Hosting right here.

2. What is shared hosting?

Shared hosting or shared web hosting is a cheapest hosting service money can buy. Your website is placed among the thousands of other websites – thus, server resources are divided into the number of active co-current users. If you are unlucky and being placed in a super dense server, your website performance will be affected badly.

What Is Shared Hosting

While shared hosting is the lowest entry level web hosting service, it doesn't come with much advanced featured when compared with managed hosting services.

Should I be using shared hosting?

I see no reason why you shouldn't be using shared hosting. Shared hosting is the best when you want to create a blog or website and doesn't want to invest a whole of money into it during the early stages.

Editor's Note.

Do you know that no two shared hosting services are similar? Features that may vary include bandwidth, visits, memory space and number of websites you can host under one account.

What are the recommended shared hosting services?

The answer is very subjective and it literally boils down to your personal web hosting experience.

For me, the top shared hosting services are no other than these two; BlueHost and Exabytes.

BlueHost web hosting starts at $2.95 per month, while Exabytes web hosting starts at RM14.99 per month. As you can see, BlueHost is best for websites targeting worldwide audience and on the other hand, Exabytes is best for Malaysia web hosting.

These shared web hosting services are extremely affordable (with slightly less performance server).

Click here to see what BlueHost can offer.

Having more traffic from Asia? Try Exabytes instead.

Thoughts: Managed hosting vs shared hosting?

Both managed hosting and shared hosting have their advantages and disadvantages. At the end of the day, you need to decide between web hosting performance and pricing (which will be the ultimate reason for your choice).

Optimizing an image means reducing the size of the image without impacting the quality to speed up website loading time and improve SEO ranking.
Compress Images For Better SEO And Faster Website Loading Speed

What Is WordPress Image Optimization?

If you want better SEO ranking and faster website speed, you need to do WordPress image optimization. In today's technological world, both SEO and website speed matters a lot to website owners.

Starting a website is more than choosing a domain name. It involves everything from the geeky part (web development) to content marketing (how well you write your content).

Most website owners do not focus in optimizing their content (such as images) until it is too late. E.g. when their competitors are beating them to the ground.

At the same time, it is common that most webmasters assume WordPress image optimization as a method to improve website loading speed.

Truth: An optimized WordPress image helps to rank on Google too!

With that being said, this is my video for day 2 vlogging series.

Watch the video and tell me what you think!

Where To Start And How To Start?

The easiest way to start WordPress image optimization is through compressing the images (for smaller size). Next, ensure that the image file name is correct and represents what you want to rank for (keywords).

Last but not least, always remember that a good WordPress image optimization includes uploading at the right size, compress (lossy) and keeping it as high resolution as possible (hint: retina display).

Do you know that keeping track of progress is very important in business? Here are some information about keeping track and how you can use for your business.
The Importance Of Keeping Track, To Any Kind Of Business

The Importance Of Keeping Track, To Any Kind Of Business

It’s a must to take the time to ask yourself if you know how your business is doing and where it’s going. This is the only way to keep your business solid and plan for its potential growth. You must always know what is going on; especially when you’re away from the business for any reason, or if you have some, or even all, of your employees working remotely. If you’re an entrepreneur, it’s imperative that you stay up-to-date with all that is happening in your business, from financial reports, to employee frustrations, to utilizing gadgets and software that can help streamline your business.

Owning your own business isn’t a walk in the park.

There’s a lot of hard work that goes into it, and unexpected events that happen—which have more twists and turns than a mystery novel. In this article, we’ll list some ways to help you keep track of your business so that it continues to grow and succeed.

Work ‘on’ not ‘in’ your business:

Various surveys point out that out of the small businesses that survive two years, over half of them will not make it to their fifth year. There are several reasons for this, starting with not enough demand for the product or service, poor cash flow, inefficient management, lack of planning, and many more. What happens often is that the entrepreneur works just like their employees; they work ‘in’ their jobs. Working ‘on’ your job means focusing on improvements and future plans, which can only be done by keeping track. Lots of owners fail at this, which contributes greatly to the failure of the business.

How To Keep Track Of Your Business

Prepare for the unexpected:

Every line of business has a worst-case scenario. A disaster can strike a business at any time and in many different ways. Data loss, an employee leaving suddenly, fire, and many other scenarios can play out, and the only way to deal with these unexpected events is to prepare for them. For employers who have a fleet of trucks or vehicles on the road, for instance, a worst-case scenario could be a road accident. These businesses find themselves better off using a fleet dash cam, which helps them not only record exactly how the accident happened, but also keep unsafe driving in check. They can track driver performance, review each day’s routes to optimize productivity, get real-time accountability for each driver, among many other benefits.

Stick to your plan:

It’s easy to divert from your original plan. This can be costly, financially, and in other ways, such as opening up to new competition you’re not prepared for. Spontaneity can be good, but diverting too far and not knowing where you’re going can lead to serious business problems.

All business owners have to be on top of their game. Without doing this, their business is more prone to failure. Knowing what’s happening and why it’s happening is going to be vital for your business to continue on a successful path. In the long run, knowing the things that are going right and wrong in your business will lead you to make better decisions.

8 Ways To Use SEO On Instagram For Marketing (And The Benefits Of Doing So)

Owing to our roles as digital marketers, we always try to optimize our efforts as much as we can. And it doesn’t matter whether you’ve been in the game long enough or you’re just getting warmed up, we all know that SEO is one of the cornerstones of digital marketing.

So you might be familiar with optimizing your website for the search engines and why it would benefit your business, but have you ever considered using Instagram for SEO?

Is that even possible? How would you do that? Most importantly, why would you do that? Let us tell you all about it.

Why You Need Search Engine Optimization

You might find yourself asking that question, and it’s actually a pretty valid one. Why do you need to optimize your website, social media, and basically all online content? Truth is, you need it so that your product/service can actually sell. Companies invest a lot of money in SEO to grow their reach and expand on their online presence.

You need tools like optimizing your Instagram posts and profile in order to be able to engage different audiences and increase your organic traffic. An experienced SEO company like SEOlutions will always claim that “different backlinks can catapult your website to new heights.” You want professionals to offer you SEO services so that you can establish your presence online, increase your search engine ranking, and improve your customer base.

Ways to Optimize your Instagram for SEO to Market Your Brand

Make sure your profile is public

Yes, marketing your brand on this particular platform isn’t exactly easy, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do your best to make sure that your Instagram account reaches as many people as possible. The first step you need to take toward that end is making sure your profile is set to public, which means anybody can access it at any given time.

This is a given naturally because you can’t really market your product on a private account. Instagram default settings are usually set for public profiles, but it never hurts to check anyway.

Keywords

You need to include the most important keyword to your brand in the account name. This has to be the case so you can get your keywords into your Instagram title tags. The title tag is usually generated based on your account information, so you need to make sure it’s done right with the exact details you want people to find your brand through.

That doesn’t mean you should stuff in unnecessary details in your handle, but rather keep it simple and to the point. For instance, “Howard’s Bookshop” is much clearer and better for SEO than “Howard’s.”

The bio counts

There aren’t really many windows for you to include keywords and SEO friendly terms on Instagram. This is why you need to make each one in your bio count. Optimizing your account bio for SEO is crucial for search results.

True, you don’t have much leeway as the maximum word count is 150 characters, but this is a clear case of quality versus quantity. You can do some stuffing in the bio, but it has to be properly done. Make use of hashtags as they’re a powerful tool on pretty much all social media platforms, and insert your relevant keywords after the hashtag sign.

Remember that Instagram has clickable hashtags, which can take users to other similar posts with the same one, so that’s a window you should definitely capitalize on.

You also should include the brand and influencer names in your account bio, because they will be clickable links that will definitely reflect on your SEO quality. Don’t just add account handles and hashtags in your bio. Make sure to add normal words to flesh out the bio and give search engines something different to work with. Pro tip: don’t forget your brand URL in the website field of the bio.

Captions

Image captions are your other powerful tool on Instagram, and it’s where you can add plenty of keywords –– tactfully. You should treat your image captions as title tags. So, they basically need to be short and rich with keywords, yet not overstuffed and boring.

Post linking

This might just be the most important step of all the above. The problem with Instagram web is the fact that its links to your posts don’t really count as real links according to Google search results. That’s why you don’t often find Instagram posts appearing in your search results, because they’re basically not indexed. So, you should do the linking manually for the actual indexing to happen.

It’s pointless to promote your Instagram profile without linking to your actual post. You can do just that by sharing links for each post on your other social media channels, linking back to the original. To do this, you need to copy the actual link of the post and put it on Facebook, Twitter, and so on.

How to use SEO on Instagram for Marketing

Contests

People just love Instagram’s photo contests, and they eat them up. If you put in a little cash prize or a reward from your brand, you not only will do wonders for your SEO and brand marketing, but also will attract many new followers on the platform. Naturally it’s going to be a photo contest, preferably related to your brand in some shape or form, and you’ll ask people to join in for a prize at the end of the competition. This drives SEO ranking and boosts your brand marketing.

Influencers

Whether you like it or not, influencer marketing is an effective and powerful tool to promote your brand, and it does work. You can use bloggers, celebrities, or just well-known people in general to boost your brand’s SEO on Instagram.

The devil’s in the details

That saying could not be truer when it comes to Instagram. Most companies don’t really focus much on this particular platform because they know it’s not the best for Google ranking and its SEO is not easy. But if you do it right and optimize your account for search engines, you can definitely make the most out of Instagram posts and take your brand marketing to a whole new level.

Sales Funnel: What Is It And How Do You Use It Effectively?

Every single aspect of your marketing campaign is completely useless it converts to sales. When you’re investing a lot of money in marketing, it’s important that those customers that you attract are being taken through to the end of the sales process and making a purchase, otherwise, you aren’t seeing a good return on that investment.

The key to making more conversions is understanding your sales funnel and how to attract customers and encourage them to convert at each stage.

Source

The first step is to attract the interest of potential customers that do not yet know that your business exists. Once you have done this and your business is on their radar, you need to engage those customers and pique their interest, this brings them into the consideration stage of the process.

They have some interest in your products but they are not yet ready to convert, so you need to educate them about the benefits of your product and eventually convince them to become paying customers.

There is one final stage even after customers have made a purchase, you need to continue to engage with them and encourage them to come back in future and buy more products. This is a very important stage because it’s those repeat customers that help to create a stable business.

If you’re struggling to move customers through this process, these are some of the different strategies that you can use at each stage.

Attracting Potential Customers

Source

Blogging is a great way to attract the interest of customers that don’t yet know about your business. If you create great content that gives useful information about your industry and then push it on social media, you’ll get a lot of traffic from people that are interested in your product area. They will come to the site for the content, but then they are likely to stay and browse your products. At this stage, they’re not likely to buy anything yet but they are now aware that your company exists and you offer products that they may be interested in at some point in the near future.

Pay per click advertising campaigns are another great way to drive traffic to your site and make yourself known to potential customers. They’re very cost effective because you only pay when somebody clicks the ad and is redirected to your website. It’s a great way to drive traffic to your website and find a lot of new potential customers.

Social media marketing is, of course, a great tool here as well. It has a lot of other uses but one of the biggest benefits is that you can reach a lot of potential new customers if you can get your existing customers to engage with your posts. If you can encourage existing customers to comment on and share your posts, that will increase their reach and they will be seen by people that don’t currently follow you.

Engaging Those Customers

Now that these customers know who you are, it’s time to start engaging them and increasing their interest in your products. One of the best ways to do this is through an email list. If you can convince them to sign up to your email list, you can begin collecting data about them and sending them marketing materials which may convert them into sales in the future. Include a small pop-up on your landing page that invites the user to give you their contact details so they can receive information about new products and offers that you are running.

You can also use other calls to action like inviting them to watch a video about your product, directing them to other content that is available on the website or asking them to follow you on social media if they aren’t already. The aim here is to encourage them to make small commitments to your company without actually making a purchase. It helps you to demonstrate your value as a business and those small commitments will eventually add up to the larger commitment of making a purchase.

During this stage, it’s important that you track your communications and interactions with customers so you can identify which ones are most likely to convert.

Using sales automation CRM software will help you to understand where in the sales funnel your customers are and what kind of marketing they will respond to. It will also help you to gather more data about them so you can tailor marketing materials more specifically to them and increase the chances of conversion.

Converting To Sales

Source

Now comes the difficult part, converting those customers to sales. All of the previous strategies like email marketing, for example, will help here but there are other things that you need to do. If you’re selling products through your website, it’s important that you focus on functionality and ease of use. People don’t want to spend a long time searching around for the products that they’re interested in, so you need good navigation menus and a search function that works well. It’s also important that you make the checkout process as smooth as possible to avoid cart abandonment, which is a huge issue for ecommerce companies.

You should also be using your sales automation software to identify customers who are most likely to make a purchase. If you can direct your marketing efforts towards those people, you’re far more likely to get conversions.

Repeat Sales

Once you’ve made a sale, you need to start thinking about increasing conversions in the further. One of the most popular ways to do this is through a referrals service. If you offer a customer a discount if they refer a friend and they make a purchase as well, you can resell to an existing customer and convert a new one at the same time.

Reselling a product that the customer has already purchased is another simple strategy. Often, if a customer enjoyed a product, they only need a slight push to purchase it again and this can be done through email marketing and social media campaigns.

If you can understand your sales funnel and how to effectively guide customers through it, you’ll see a large increase in conversions in a very short period of time.
