Retrenchment And Unemployment State During Covid-19 Outbreak
I’m sure you are aware of the Covid-19 outbreak in various countries. Businesses are struggling and some businesses even shut down. For those businesses that are still alive, the employers are laying off staffs or forcing them to take unpaid leaves until further notice.
For those who are just earning enough to survive and living from one paycheque to another in Malaysia, they are in pain … the pain is not bearable and I understand. I saw my friends and past colleagues being either laid off or given retrenchment with a mere 24 hours notice.
What should they do? Go to labour office and make a report? Yes, maybe.
But, that doesn’t solve the problem. The problem lies is time. You are out of work for 15 to 30 days (or more) and you need to find the right resources to get your money back to put food on the table.
In this article, I’m going to show you how you can copy up with retrenchment and unemployment during Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia.
Lockdown By The Malaysian Government Isn’t Always A Bad Thing
I live in Malaysia and the government had issued a partial lockdown from 18th March 2020 until 31st March 2020. A partial lockdown means:
No gathering in the public
No gathering more than 10 people at one time
Reduced movement (movement control for all citizens)
No one can use the highway for travel
Hotels do not accept any check-ins from 18th March onwards
All non-essential businesses are required to close down/shut down operations
Eateries are allowed to operated only by offering takeaways
Supermarkets and sundry shops are allowed to open for daily needed
When the government issued the above statement, people went panic beyond control. Every shelf in the market was empty and people was rushing for groceries like the one you see in World War Z (starred by Brad Pitt)
I thought I had seen it all but this event is wayyyyy beyond the scale. Carry on reading to find out how you can leverage this time (and make more money to survive).
Food Deliveries Will Thrive
I got over a dozen emails from various food delivery services in Malaysia yesterday—promoting their latest offers and deals.
The government had been clear than while you cannot dine-in, you can always take away. Added with the fear of Covid-19, food deliveries will grow far and wide.
How can you leverage from this?
Apply for GrabFood or FoodPanda
Head over to any local restaurants and cafes and ask if they have short term job opportunities
Provide A Service (And Earn Commission From It)
This is a little unconventional but it may work.
The country is in partial lockdown and people are afraid (okay, majority of them). So, how can this benefits you?
By offering services that people dearly needs BUT are afraid of doing.
Let me tell you a story. A friend of mine was retrenched (ouch) and he decided to provide ‘kirim’ services for his neighbours. He will head over to the local supermarket and get things his neighbours need.
He will take a small portion of commission for the work done.
Now, the commission will not be something big that you can shout out, but it is decent enough for you to survive for a day or two.
And if you want to cope up with the retrenchment or unemployment during Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia, this is exactly what you need to do.
Think Far And Wide Because It Is Not Over (Opportunity Hunting)
The partial lockdown in Malaysia, the unemployment state and the retrenchment are far from over. Even if the government lifts the partial lockdown state, businesses are still going to suffer.
The solution to this is to think far and wide. This is the golden period to think out of the box.
And if you are being retrenched or unemployed now, this is the time for you to do the thing that you had always wanted to do.

You can block individual accounts or take action on multiple comments at once for bulk blocking.
Blocking can contribute to a more enjoyable and safe environment for all users.
Introduction: How to Block Someone on TikTok
The TikTok app is a very popular social media platform among smartphone users, especially Android users and iPhone users. With many users, there is a wide mix of people. Luckily, TikTok has tools to help you manage your interactions, including viewing the profile of the person you might want to block. One key feature is the option to block users from that person’s profile. This tutorial, or Beginner’s Guide, will show you how to block someone on TikTok. This way, you can have more control over your experience.
Understanding TikTok’s Block Feature
Blocking on social media helps you manage your online interactions and keeps unwanted contacts away. You can think of it like a digital door. When you block someone on TikTok, they can’t interact with your content or profile at all.

Why Blocking Matters on Social Media
A big part of having a good time on social media is making sure it feels safe. The block feature is very helpful for this. If someone is harassing you, being mean, or sending messages you don’t want, blocking lets you stop those actions.
Platforms like TikTok have community guidelines that explain what behavior is okay. You can use blocking to help keep these guidelines in place. This shows that harmful actions are not acceptable in the community.
Blocking also helps you take charge of your online space. If you find some interactions annoying or just want to talk less with someone, blocking is an easy way to handle it.
The Immediate Effects of Blocking Someone on TikTok (Livestream Included)
Blocking gives you better control over your TikTok use. It helps you feel safe because it reduces unwanted interactions. By blocking, you can enjoy the good parts of the platform and connect with creators you like.

Keep in mind that the blocking feature works both ways. The person you block can’t find your account, videos, or profile in searches or anywhere else. This mutual invisibility makes it easier to stay apart and stop any further unwanted contact.
Preparing to Block Users on TikTok
Blocking on TikTok is easy, but knowing the steps can help make it even easier.
Before you block someone, think about if it’s the best thing to do. If someone is bothering you seriously or threatening you, it might be better to report that user to TikTok instead.

Your preparation for retirement should include evaluating life settlement plans and how it can add value to your quality of life and well-being. Seniors who prepare for retirement financially and emotionally are more likely to enjoy their golden years. After this read, you can become one of them; ready and looking forward to retiring because you know that a life settlement plan has got you covered.
What is a life settlement?
You might have heard about life settlement plans, but are not sure what that means. If you have a life insurance policy, that is considered an asset and, by law, you have the right to sell any asset. For any number of reasons, you might decide you no longer need your life insurance policy and want to sell it. This is when life settlement companies come in. They’re companies willing to buy your life insurance plan, give you a lump sum for it, and pick up the death benefits of that insurance upon the insurer’s passing.
How much you can receive from a life settlement depends on several variables; making each case unique. It will usually depend on such things as:
The value of the policy, including premiums
Cost of insurance
Cash value
Cost of conversion
Medical reviews determining life expectancy
Who buys life insurance?
Life settlement companies have the means and the desire to buy insurance policies. Like with any other financial transaction, you want to make sure you’re dealing with a professional and licensed company that has a good track record. You can follow some guidelines about life settlements and life settlement companies provided by qlifesettlements.com to know more details about the entire process. You can either sell your policy directly to a state-regulated life settlement provider, or you can sell it through a life insurance broker who is also state-regulated and holds a license. As a policyholder, you need to know more details to protect yourself and understand how the process can work for you and how you will benefit.
Why would I sell my life insurance?
Ultimately, it’s a personal choice to do that, but there are several valid reasons for why you might want to sell, including:
Burdensome and expensive premium payments on your life insurance
These are just some common reasons why people might not be interested to continue paying for life insurance. Generally, you don’t need any specific reason to sell it.
Am I a candidate to sell?
There are some criteria to be able to sell your insurance policy and receive life settlement:
You need to be at least 60 years old
Have an insurance policy worth at least $100,000
How a life settlement will help you
There’s no doubt that when you reach retirement and your golden years, it will be essential to make your life, not only more secure, but also comfortable and enjoyable. The right life settlement plan can do that for you. How?
Secure finances
Keep in mind that life insurance doesn’t benefit you in any way; it benefits your beneficiaries. But what if your beneficiaries are self-sufficient, or if you don’t have any? It certainly makes a lot more financial sense to benefit yourself in such cases. Instead of paying high premiums for something that you will never use and losing more cash by just letting your insurance lapse, you can secure your financial future with a life settlement.
